Our engineers have a lot of detailed maps they use when working on this project. We have published quite a few on the main Maps page.
There’s a map that shows the entire pathway (Section Overview Map), a map that shows how it will connect to other pathways in Auckland (Auckland Connections Map) and a map that shows all the feeder streams and creeks (Waterways of Te Whau Map). There are also detailed maps for each section.
But (!), the question we get asked the most is “Where is the pathway being built at the moment?” So today we present to you: The Current Construction Zone Map!
The Current Construction Zone Map shows where the building work is happening now, with nearby places labelled so you can put the current construction into a wider context.
About the Construction Zones
The first part of the pathway to be built (Zone 7) will start from Bridge Avenue in Te Atatū South and connect to Roberts Road. The estimated completion date is mid-2026, although obviously the earlier the better and everyone is working hard to make sure this is a possibility.
The section from Bridge Avenue northwards to SH16 (Zone 8) will be worked on concurrently, nesting within the Bridge Avenue to Roberts Road (Zone 7) timeline, as there are construction efficiencies to be gained in building the two sections in parallel.
