Te Whau Pathway Project has completed the detail design for Section 5 (SH16 – Roberts Field) and will soon complete detailed design for Section 2 (Wingate to Ken Maunder). With the additional information generated through this process, a shortfall in funding has been identified to complete the initiative.
Volatile market conditions and a high risk environment have now caused realisation of identified project risks. Under the current economic constraints facing Auckland Council, it has become necessary to pause the project while council looks at all other possible options for obtaining further funding and completing this phase of the project.
At this stage no decision has been made to stop the project, council will be making a submission to the Governing Body at the end of February for further direction. In the meantime we will be looking at what opportunities might exist for further funding.
